About the roleThis position provides an exciting opportunity for psychologists committed to working in a community mental health team, particularly those interested in working with young people and their families. The working hours are 8:30-5:00pm. The Bathurst CAMHS team includes clinicians from nursing, social work, psychology, and psychiatry backgrounds, with support from dietetics and other allied health disciplines.
The team prides itself on working collaboratively and maintaining an excellent workplace culture of support and flexibility while ensuring a high level of clinical care is provided.
The team meets every morning to review new referrals and plan the day. Clinicians will then see young people and their families, conducting mental health assessments, providing therapy, and care planning for improved mental wellbeing. The successful applicant will work closely with the team leader, the clinical leader, and the wider team. They will also be linked with a clinical supervisor and professional mentor.
The successful applicant will engage in robust clinical and operational orientation to the role, including the development and implementation of an individualized professional development pathway. This plan will include the core skills required to undertake the role and the person's own developmental interests in the area of CAMHS.
