Role and Facility InformationThe South Island Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of Island Health is seeking part-time and full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to provide psychiatric services to children, youth, and transitional age adolescents in the Greater Victoria area. The department welcomes applicants who are General/Adult Psychiatrists with a demonstrated interest in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

New funding for a formalized urgent outpatient assessment team with a mandate to provide rapid assessment, liaison with community practitioners, and connection with community mental health resources.Outpatient psychiatric services, including consultations and management of MHSU conditions for youth and adolescents aged 13 to 21.Development of a new Child and Adolescent psychiatry inpatient unit, requiring input from experienced clinicians.Work-from-home opportunities with our flexible, consultation-based Telepsychiatry Program.Collaboration as part of an interdisciplinary team with other mental health teams, community physicians, and care providers.Participation in program development and division meetings.Participation in the Child and Youth Mental Health on-call group.Involvement in the training of medical students and Psychiatry Residents.No office overhead.
