Winanga-Li Aboriginal Child and Family Centre PSP Casework Support Worker Winanga-Li Aboriginal Child and Family Centre is accredited as an Aboriginal Out-of-Home Care Service.
Our Out-of-Home Care service is located in Gunnedah and our area covers the New England Region including Gunnedah, Quirindi, Tamworth, Narrabri, Moree and neighbouring towns.
We are inviting expressions of interest from experienced people wishing to apply for the role of Casework Support Worker with our agency.
As a Casework Support Worker within the Out-of-Home Care team, you will be responsible for helping caseworkers in their day-to-day work supporting children, young people, their Carers and families in varied and challenging circumstances.
What you'll do: You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Assisting Caseworkers prepare documentation for Pre-Planning of Case Plans, and minute taking of Case Plan meetings.Sourcing and sharing information about children and young people and making relevant referrals and appointments.Maintaining timely casework records, including client information system records.Supervising family contact visits, and preparing reports which accurately record observations in a timely manner.Speaking with children, young people, their Carers and families.What we're looking for: Someone who has exposure to working in Community Services, and experience in working with vulnerable people.Strong record keeping experience or the willingness to learn.Someone who understands the complexities of the Child Protection/Out-of-Home-Care system.Certificate III or above in Community Services/relevant field, OR relevant work experience deemed to be the equivalent experience.Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to establish priorities, manage workloads and identify when to reschedule and reorganise work to reflect changes in priority.Ability to relate effectively to children and their families.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Positive communication and inter-personal skills.Commitment to ongoing professional learning.Be of Aboriginal descent and demonstrate an understanding of why this is relevant to the role or your cultural understanding and experience working in the Child Protection Sector.This position is subject to applicants having a current Working with Children Check, Criminal Record Check clearances and a current unrestricted NSW Driver's license.
