You will be a strong communicator with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service and culturally safe services to Aboriginal people. You have demonstrated experience in managing calls for maintenance, assessing property maintenance needs, coordinating tradesman to undertake repairs within designated budgets and timeframes, and updating information systems. You will be strongly committed to working as a member of a team while being self-motivated and able to work independently. Applying your excellent organisational skills is a strong feature of your approach to work.
Key areas of responsibility include: Answering maintenance phone calls from tenants and raising works orders for appropriate tradesman to action within required timeframes Coordinating tradesman for multiple jobs at once and tracking progress Providing tenant updates on work orders raised Regular site/property inspections Verifying and processing contractor invoices for completed works Phone audits and surveys relating to maintenance & repairs Keeping accurate records and updating systems with key asset data Providing reports to management to assist with regulatory compliance and reporting Who we are looking for: Aboriginality – your employer considers Aboriginality a genuine occupational qualification for the role in accordance with the Anti-Discrimination Act (s.14(d)) Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of the social housing sector Experience in social housing, real estate or asset/facilities management with intermediate understanding of the NSW Residential Tenancies Act Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to liaise with several stakeholders Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with contractors, suppliers and community services Empathy towards the challenges faced by people needing housing assistance Knowledge and understanding of the cultural practices, values and issues that currently affect Aboriginal peoples in NSW Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and plan workloads effectively You will also need: A valid National Police Check (less than six (6) months old) A current driver's licence valid in the state of NSW Willingness to be office-based up to five (5) days per week Remuneration: Remuneration will be commensurate with the capabilities and experience of the candidate. As a guide, the salary for this role will be as per the SCHADS award Level 3 to 4 (negotiable).
