Working at CQUniversity CQUniversity's Counselling, Wellbeing and Safer Communities Team aims to provide inclusive counselling and wellbeing services that promotes student engagement and retention by supporting students with issues that impact upon their studies and personal life.
In this meaningful and dynamic role, you will deliver, support and evaluate wellbeing focused programs aligned with Mindwaves 2.0 , and CQUniversity's Mental Health and Wellbeing Plan.
In this role you will work collaboratively with a range of staff and stakeholders to develop a thorough and proactive approach to student wellbeing.
You will assist in the coordination and implementation of dynamic prevention and early intervention programs to support students with University transition, self-management, cultural adjustment, and life skills, while fostering inclusive environments.
Acting as the first point of contact for students seeking assistance on various wellbeing matters, you will conduct wellbeing checks and develop tailored support services and strategies.
You will also organise and participate in events such as University Mental Health Day and R U OK? Day to boost campus awareness and engagement.
Through your efforts, you will help create a positive and supportive environment while driving the success of wellbeing initiatives.

Knowledge of equity and social justice principles to support diverse student participation and success.
Familiarity with higher education sector issues, with the ability to quickly learn CQUniversity policies and procedures.
Understanding of project management and proficient in the use of information systems including CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
A relevant degree plus experience; extensive experience with specialist expertise; or a combination of education and experience with demonstrated expertise in counselling, decision-making, and handling urgent student matters.
