Project Officer (multiple roles) Fixed term role: until 30 June 2025Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)Usual work location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)The Role The Project Officer role will support the work of Apprenticeships Victoria (AV) to deliver more job opportunities for apprentices and trainees looking to start a career in areas experiencing skills shortages.
The responsibilities of the Project Officer will include:
Providing high quality project and administrative support in a timely manner while delivering on key milestones and ensuring projects stay on track.Supporting management, implementation and monitoring of Priority Apprenticeship initiatives.Assisting in the preparation of briefings, reports, protocols and guidelines and correspondence.Ensuring appropriate consultation is undertaken with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SME) for good decision making.The Team The position of Project Officer forms a part of the Apprenticeships Victoria branch within the Skills and Employment group.
Skills and Employment (SE) focuses on enabling Victorians to gain access to skills and employment opportunities and enabling a strong pipeline of workers to meet Victoria's skills needs, now and into the future.
About You The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Stakeholder management: Takes concrete steps to add value for the stakeholder; links people with other areas (as appropriate), monitors client and stakeholder satisfaction; constructively deals with stakeholder issues.Project Management: Produces project plans where objectives are clearly defined and action steps for achieving them are clearly specified.Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Proven ability to objectively analyse and evaluate available data, points of view, needs of stakeholders and potential solutions before recommending relevant actions or decisions.The department is committed to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation. We have zero tolerance of child abuse and are committed to taking the necessary steps to protect children from harm by adopting a preventative, proactive and participatory approach to child safety in accordance with the Child Safe Standards.
