About the opportunity There is currently one (1) 12 month fixed term full time position with the possibility of extension and/or permanency available for immediate filling.
We are seeking a project officer to join our Animal Product Integrity and Traceability team in the livestock traceability area.
You will coordinate delivery of livestock traceability operational project work and contribute to State and national livestock traceability policy and projects.
If you have a passion for the livestock industry and improving livestock traceability to support emergency disease preparedness and trade for WA's livestock and products, then this may be the opportunity for you!
We are looking for individuals with:
A sound knowledge of the WA/Australian livestock industry and supply chains, and preferably some knowledge of animal traceability systems/legislation.The ability to contribute to state and national livestock traceability policy and strategic project initiatives.Experience developing and implementing project and activity operational plans, including developing procedural documentation and written communications materials.The ability to proactively identify issues and work constructively with colleagues and managers to implement agreed solutions.For further information and special requirements for this role please see attached Job Description Form (JDF).

Employment Conditions and Additional Information DPIRD is an Emergency Management Agency and all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
Am I eligible to apply? To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia.
To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period as part of your application.
