The Role This is a rewarding and challenging opportunity for an experienced Project Officer to support Creative Victoria's First Peoples policy and program deliverables and ongoing development of Creative Victoria's overall engagement with the Victorian First Peoples' creative sector.
The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of the First Peoples Team within Creative Victoria, working with the Senior Officer, First Peoples to support the Senior Manager, First Peoples in developing and maintaining key sector, community and government stakeholder relationships, policy and program design and implementation of key project deliverables.
Key accountabilities include:
Support the Senior Manager First Peoples in collaboration with Program Managers of First Peoples programs and sector-wide programs across Creative Victoria. Develop and maintain relationships with Victorian First Peoples communities and creative industry stakeholders, key internal and external stakeholders and provide relevant information and advice to the Senior Manager First Peoples ensuring appropriate information flow and represent Creative Victoria confidently with external stakeholders. Provide appropriate cultural (content) advice and advocacy across all Creative Victoria programs and work areas. The Team The position of Senior Project Officer, First Peoples forms a part of the First Peoples branch and sits within the Creative Victoria group.
Creative Victoria is the state government body dedicated to championing, growing and supporting Victoria's creative industries. We invest in the ideas, talent, organisations, events and projects that make Victoria a creative state.
The First Peoples branch leads Creative Victoria on First Peoples priorities, which includes enhancing self-determination by delivering First Peoples representation within Creative Victoria, improving whole-of-Creative Victoria work in support of the 'First Peoples First' principle and delivering on Creative State 2025 commitments and broader government policy relating to First Peoples.
About You The role will require an experienced candidate with extensive knowledge of Victoria's First Peoples cultural and creative sectors, including strong community and sector networks, high level stakeholder and project management skills, and the capacity to use these skills to develop and deliver effective outcomes.
