We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Project Officer to support QM's First Nations initiatives and advancing our shared goals of reconciliation and repatriation.

It is a genuine occupational requirement for this position to be fi lled by an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person, as permitted byandarguable under, Sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.
As the team's Project Officer, Engagement, you will work with the Senior Manager, Engagement and together play a key role in engaging and enhancing QM's relationships with First Nations peoples. Your will foster communication and support activities between the Museum and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, stakeholders, and partners, and ensure that our projects and initiatives align with the needs and priorities of First Nations peoples and the Museum's First Nations Strategy.

To perform this role it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991

Appointments are subject to criminal history checks in accordance with section 52 of the Public Sector Act 2022.
Prior to appointment, current and previous public sector employees are required to disclose any history of serious disciplinary action in accordance with section 71 of the Public Sector Act 2022.
All employees are required to disclose any interest/s that conflict, may conflict or may be perceived to conflict with the discharge of their duties in accordance with section 182 of the Public Sector Act 2022.
