We act for humanity.The Emergency Services team supports communities to ensure they are strong, resilient, and capable of anticipating, responding to, and recovering well from disasters and other crises.About the roleThe Project Officer - Emergency Services is responsible for the planning and delivery of emergency preparedness workshops that support individuals and households to prepare for emergencies and disasters.
The Project Officer both delivers services directly and works alongside the NSW Emergency Services team to achieve service outcomes.This role works at a state or territory sector level, with guidance from the state and national program lead, to increase knowledge and understanding of emergencies and the practical steps people can take to prepare for them.What you will bringDemonstrated experience in training and workshop delivery.Sound knowledge of contemporary project management and the ability to work within all stages of a project life cycle within clear objectives and budget constraints.Ability to work under general direction from senior employees to work with and support teams and people from diverse backgrounds and contribute to a collaborative working environment.Demonstrated skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning, and organising own work, and delivering results.Sound technical knowledge and understanding of emergency management concepts, principles, and arrangements as they apply to the needs of people before, during and after disasters.Mandatory compliance requirementsA current NSW employee Working with Children Check.Benefits that act for you, while you act for humanity.Financial wellbeing: In addition to your salary, you can take advantage of salary packaging that could provide you with a great way to reduce the amount of tax you pay and get more from your salary.Health & Wellbeing: You can tap into specialist advice for nutrition, sleep, resilience, and mindfulness, as well as access to guided meditation and other wellbeing programs.Work/Life Flexibility: You can access flexible working arrangements, paid 'Me' day just for you and a wide range of other paid leave options.Career development: Access to ongoing learning, training, and development courses.Further informationThis role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4.
