Project Officer, Cultural Consultation Specialist

About the RoleThe Australian Museum is seeking two experienced Consultation Officers to work within the Cultural Collection Enhancement Project and with the Pasifika or Australian First Nations communities.
The successful candidates will have consultation experience with Pasifika and/or Australian First Nations communities, an understanding of Pasifika and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts and cultural practices, and experience working with sensitive material including ICIP and cultural protocols.
They will also have demonstrated understanding and experience in collection information management practices, including the use of databases such as EMu, Fotoware or similar.
The role holder must be prepared to travel between the various sites which hold the AM collections, and to external stakeholders as needed to support the work of the First Nations Collections teams.
This is an Identified role authorised under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW) and as such Aboriginality and/or Pasifika (Pacific Islander) descent is an essential requirement of the role.
