The Role As the Head of Strategy at MLC Life Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the organisation's enterprise strategy. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Strategy, Marketing, and Customer Experience, this senior leadership position is key to driving the long-term vision and purpose of MLC Life Insurance. You'll collaborate closely with the Executive Team to craft innovative strategies, whether through new products, expanded services, or breaking into untapped markets and channels.
Your role will involve monitoring industry trends, analysing data to forecast emerging opportunities, and ensuring the organisation's strategic direction is responsive to external influences such as competitor movements, regulatory changes, and shifting market dynamics.
You will lead MLC Life Insurance's annual strategic planning process, working alongside senior leaders, the Board, and shareholders to refine the strategy. Additionally, you will ensure this strategy is embedded into the organisation's decision-making and provide support on high-impact projects for the Chief Customer and Strategy Officer.
Change management, stakeholder engagement, and proactive risk management will be core to your responsibilities, as you ensure MLC Life Insurance navigates an evolving landscape with a clear and consistent strategic focus.
About You You are an accomplished strategist with a minimum of eight years of experience in the life or general insurance, wealth management, or broader financial services industry. With your deep expertise in strategic planning and execution, you thrive on collaborating with senior leaders and guiding complex initiatives that have lasting organisational impact.
Your ability to interpret and analyse data, combined with a strong commercial acumen, enables you to anticipate risks, identify opportunities, and propose solutions that drive organisational success.
Your leadership style is both confident and empathetic, with a passion for mentoring and developing your team. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, including the Board and Executive Team. You understand the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships across the business, ensuring that strategic initiatives are embraced and embedded across the organisation.
