The Opportunity
Join a team revolutionising heart failure treatment through the innovation and development of advanced implantable heart devices. The graduate School of Biomedical Engineering (GSBmE) has an opportunity for aProject Officer. In this key role, you will offer high-level, practical, and efficient project support to the project teams and key stakeholders involved in the Artificial Heart Frontiers Program (AHFP). This includes collaborating with clinicians and engineers at GSBmE, UNSW, and St Vincent's Hospital. Additionally, this role involves providing project management, reporting, and analytical support, creating communications, fostering key internal and external relationships, and developing or consulting on essential programs and projects.
The role reports to the Program Manager for the Tyree Institute of Health Engineering (currently Brice Lenfant), who will manage allocation of tasks between the three AHFP projects funded at UNSW and St Vincent's Hospital.
Salary, Level 6 - $100,354 to $107,054 per annum + 17% superannuation

Skills and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification in biomedical or software engineering with subsequent relevant project management experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including MATLAB, Python, is desirable.
Experience with medical device regulations, software standards and Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO13485), is desirable.
Experience working with clinicians on medical projects is highly desirable.
Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
Proven project experience, with an understanding of agile processes, project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
