This is a true nation-building project that will underpin Australia's transition to renewables.
The pumped-hydro expansion of the Snowy Scheme will link two existing dams, Tantangara and Talbingo, through a 27km underground tunnel and a new underground power station is the largest of its kind undertaken anywhere in the world.
As the Programme Acceleration and Efficiency Manager, you are responsible for leading and managing the successful implementation of project acceleration initiatives.
Reporting to the General Manager for Project Excellence, you will coordinate with various internal stakeholders and external contractors to support the design and implementation of initiatives, manage progress, identify process improvement opportunities and support the resolution of issues related to project acceleration.
Key accountabilities include:
Support project leadership and onsite teams to identify and prioritise project acceleration initiatives based on project need and expected level of impact Create and regularly update the model that quantifies the level of impact of the initiatives on the project Cultivate relationships across the project stakeholders to gain buy-in, particularly engaging with senior management at the contractor while maintaining strict confidentiality protocols Support initiative leads with project management and business support in driving and delivering against acceleration opportunities Assist initiative owners and teams in maintaining and measuring acceleration once the initiative teams have moved on to the next area of focus Support the GM of project acceleration, who chairs the Project Acceleration Governance meeting, with materials reporting on progress and identifying issues that merit escalation and further investigation by senior leadership You will promote a culture of continuous improvement, high performance, and accountability among team members to deliver exceptional results.
Ideally, you will be tertiary qualified with a demonstrated track record of leading business improvement functions on major infrastructure projects; civil, mining, or hydro.
The ability to inspire and coach leaders as well as team members to bring about change will be second nature to you, as is an execution mindset in a dynamic environment.
This role is based in Cooma (Monday - Friday) with frequent trips to the construction sites at Lobs Hole, Tantangara, and Marica.
