The Opportunity
You will spearhead the implementation and delivery of digital projects that align with strategic goals, business needs, and project timelines. In this role, you'll manage the intersection of Business and IT requirements to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of project solutions, while proactively identifying major risks and leading stakeholder engagement to address and mitigate these issues.
The Digital Foundations Program, launched in 2023, is designed to position UniSC for future success by enabling access to modern work practices and technology solutions. Strategies for the Digital Workplace and Cloud Services have been finalised, and early capabilities from the UniSC AI Roadmap are being delivered. As part of this initiative, your focus will span several key work streams, including:
AI and Automation:
Lead the development of AI Copilots, enhance automation through the Power Platform, and elevate ServiceNow capabilities.
Modern Collaboration:
Drive M365 adoption, oversee the transition from shared drives to M365, and champion Teams-based coursework to foster collaboration between academics and students.
Modern Workspaces:
Reimagine Learning & Teaching spaces in line with AI advancements and hybrid work models, oversee the transition from Zoom to Teams Rooms, and facilitate the rollout of Windows 11 with Modern Management.
Modern Architecture:
Lead the transformation of Data Centres and transition to a Cloud Services operating model.
Digital Re-brand:
Oversee digital system initiatives to align with the new UniSC brand identity.
About you
As a technically proficient Project Manager, you are committed to driving projects to timely completion while collaborating closely with our governance teams, including PMO, Privacy, Data CAB, Cyber Security, Architecture, Change Board, Organisational Change, and Service Transition to enhance deliverable quality. Your success stems from your proven ability to organise and manage multiple projects, coordinate teams effectively, and build and maintain collaborative relationships both within and outside the organization.
To be successful you will possess:
Postgraduate qualifications with subsequent extensive relevant experience and proven expertise in digital project delivery ideally within the higher education sector; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training;
Extensive experience and highly developed analytical skills, ideally with knowledge of student information systems, research management systems, and enterprise resource planning systems;
Demonstrated understanding of and experience in the planning, development, integration, and implementation of digital technology, preferably within higher education;
Excellent business acumen skills with the ability to lead digital impact assessments and risk mitigation to optimise business processes;
Extensive experience working with vendors or commercial agents, and a proven understanding of procurement and contract management using GITC frameworks;
Experience and knowledge of guidelines, best practices, and operating principles in alignment with frameworks and methodologies including but not limited to ITIL 4.0, COBIT, NIST CSF, Agile, TOGAF, PRINCE2, DEVOPS, Six Sigma, etc.
