Duties As a project manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of construction projects, from design to completion. Your tasks will include developing requirements, producing tender documents, monitoring budgets and schedules, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders.

Work environment The Department of National Defence (DND) offers over 70 types of civilian career opportunities. DND provides services and support to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in their operations at home and abroad. The civilian workforce is essential to the Defence Team, contributing to the overall mission.

Intent of the process The intent of this process is to fill six (6) positions in various locations. This process will also create a pool of qualified persons for current and future vacancies.

Information you must provide Essential qualifications EDUCATION:
EDU1. College Diploma (DEC) in Civil engineering, architecture, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:
EX1. Experience in project management within the field of construction.
EX2. Experience in problem-solving within civil engineering, architecture, or related fields.
EX3. Experience as a technical expert in relevant fields.

The following will be assessed at a later date KNOWLEDGE:
K1. Knowledge of construction codes, standards, and regulations.
K2. Knowledge of theories and practices in the main discipline of the position.

ABILITIES:
A1. Ability to manage financial resources.
A2. Ability to manage projects in the targeted field.
A3. Ability to create designs in the targeted field.

COMPETENCIES:
C1. Demonstrating integrity and respect.
C2. Work effectively with others.
C3. Thinking things through.
C4. Showing initiative and being action-oriented.
C5. Communication.

Conditions of employment Reliability Status security clearance is required. Candidates must meet and maintain the following conditions of employment:

Be able to obtain and maintain a National Defense driver's licence (DND 404). Have a valid Class 5 driver's licence issued by the Province of Quebec or equivalent. Ability and willingness to work overtime as required. Availability and willingness to travel outside the Headquarters Area.
