To provide management oversight for all phases of solar construction projects, including but not limited to project planning, procurement & design oversight, coordinating employees, subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding with high quality and safety standards and projects are being delivered on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities: Develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.Update and manage construction programs on a daily and weekly basis.Map project resources including labour, machinery and equipment.Track project costs in accordance with the program.Create weekly progress/program reports to management on current project performance.Minimizes exposure and risk by implementing and auditing safety standards and quality assurance controls.Coordinates work of subcontractors working on various phases of multiple projects.Oversees performance of all contractors and reviews construction and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits, licenses, and contractual notices.Supervises assistant managers and superintendents, reviews their reports, checks on reported difficulties, and corrects any safety violations or deficiencies.Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion within allocated time and budget.Reports to management about progress and any necessary modifications of plans.Plans, implements, tracks, and closes out construction projects.Conducts project meetings.Manages day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of construction projects.Manages client interactions and expectations, directly or in a supervisory role.Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, and project costs.Achieves revenue goals set for projects.Generates and issues regular internal and external project reporting as per company procedures and contractual requirements.Proactively identifies changes in project scope and ensures appropriate measures are taken.Projects changes in scope and revenue.Skills Requirements: Strong written and oral communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Financial and Job Cost Accounting Knowledge.Ability to work under pressure and cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.Proficiency in project scheduling software such as MS Project.Project time and cost tracking and analysis.Organisation skills to assist in planning of new and existing activities.Effective communication with team members.Good work ethics and ability to treat documents with confidentiality.Excellent attention to detail.Experience: Ideal experience would be in the construction industry in a project management position, project scheduler, project planner, project engineering, or commercial management position.
A minimum of 5 years' experience is desired.
