Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager specializing in Grid Connections to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the successful integration of renewable energy projects into existing power grids. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of grid connection projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage grid connection projects for renewable energy facilities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to develop project plans and timelines. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine grid connection requirements and constraints. Manage procurement processes for equipment, materials, and services required for grid connection projects. Monitor project progress, budget, and resources, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure project milestones are met. Liaise with grid operators, regulatory authorities, and local communities to address permitting, licensing, and environmental compliance issues. Prepare and review technical documentation, including grid connection applications, engineering drawings, and reports. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders on project status, risks, and opportunities. Facilitate commissioning and testing activities, coordinating with engineering and operations teams to achieve successful project outcomes. Manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures. Mentor and support project team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and efficiency. Resolve conflicts and issues that may arise during project execution, employing effective communication and problem-solving skills. Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to capture best practices and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Proven experience as a Project Manager managing grid connection projects in the renewable energy sector. Knowledge of grid integration requirements, grid codes, and standards. Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage project scope, schedule, and budget. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Experience in procurement, contract management, and vendor relations. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Ability to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.
