The Healthy Communities and Safe Communities (HC&SC) Programs are two distinct functions under the TSRA; with strategic priorities to influence policy for health priorities across all tiers of government and focus on the safety of individuals and communities in the Torres Strait Region.
The EL1 Project Manager position will work collaboratively with HC&SC Programs management on the implementation of the strategic and operational services, including oversight of a small diverse project team.
The key duties of the position include:Manage and lead a small, dynamic grants and contracts team responsible for a range of projects and initiatives, including grants for social support services, legal services and other direct initiatives targeting healthy lifestyles.Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners, including state and commonwealth government services relevant to the health and social services sector, and Torres Strait and Northern Peninsula Area organisations and communities.Coordinate and inform high quality advice to the TSRA governance coordination through monitoring and reporting to TSRA Board and Executive key performance measures, input on Ministerial and Parliamentary enquiries including Senate Estimates and leading the development of high-quality policy submissions.Leading identified projects, initiatives, activities and reforms to support delivery of key priorities identified in the TSRA Development Plan 2023-2028 and TSRA Corporate Plan 2024-25.Supporting strategic policy and project delivery such as representing the TSRA in advocacy engagements, conduct research and analytical tasks to inform and develop evidence-based approach to achieve the TSRA Torres Strait Development Plan 2024-2028 and the Closing the Gap priorities.Any other duties as directed by the Program Manager.Identified PositionThis vacancy is an identified position, meaning the role has a strong involvement in issues relating to Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal people.
