The role:
Our client is leading the charge in driving renewables forward in Australia, with a $13bn mammoth project in NSW.

As the Project Manager - Drill & Blast, you are responsible for on-site leadership, project management and oversight of all underground activities, predominantly Drill & Blast activities for power station development.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be accountable in leading and managing the work of a surveillance team.
Responsibilities:
Maintain high health and safety standards, implementing safety plans and exhibiting consistent behaviours.
Lead power station complex development oversight, including excavation, rock support, and ventilation.
Lead, manage, coach, and develop team members in achieving goals and improving work practices.
Utilize flexible interpersonal style and appropriate leadership behaviours to build positive work relationships.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to resolve conflicts and maintain effective working relationships.
Support Senior Project Manager in managing Owners/Employer's site teams.
Ensure construction compliance with Employer's Design and Construction Requirements.
Constantly review Contractor's excavation activities to detect performance deficiencies.
Conduct daily site coordination meetings, review daily diaries, and monitor resource levels.
Monitor deployment of Contractor's construction resources and confirm daily resource reports.
Manage on-site Quality Management activities, review, and approve Contractor's documentation.
Provide guidance to ensure inspections, tests, and remedies are carried out in the project's best interest.
Oversight of cavern construction activities for compliance with quality requirements.
Proactively manage and review Owner's Team Non-Conformance Reports.
Support monitoring and oversight of cavern works, including drill and blast.
Participate in joint assessments of actual ground conditions and support geotechnical assessments.
Monitor progress in construction areas and assist Environmental and Safety Assurance officers.
Review Contractor method statements and assess progress against the program.
Regularly report on work status, progress, and address issues related to quality, safety, and progress.
Formally communicate relevant issues to the contractor and within the Owner's Team through ACONEX.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction/project management or equivalent.
Demonstrated leadership ability.
Extensive experience in managing large scale, high risk underground infrastructure projects, including drill & blast planning and execution.
Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
Good knowledge of quality, WHS, environmental and employment policies, procedures, and standards.
