We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead technology implementation projects within the mining industry. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in managing complex technology projects, with a specific focus on implementations, ongoing administration, and support. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, engineering, and external vendors to ensure that mining technology systems are deployed, integrated, and maintained efficiently.
Responsibilities Project Management & Implementations Lead end-to-end technology implementation projects, from planning and design to deployment and stabilization. Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with business goals. Coordinate with internal (IT, operations, and engineering) and external teams (IT, operations, maintenance, technical solutions) and external vendors to ensure smooth implementation of technology solutions. Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, budgets, risk management, and stakeholder communication. Ensure that all project milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget. Conduct post-implementation reviews to ensure success and identify areas for improvement. Oversee the ongoing administration of mining technology systems, ensuring they operate at peak performance. Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to maintain the integrity, security, and reliability of all technology systems. Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met. Provide high-level support and troubleshooting for mining technology systems, working closely with the support teams to resolve issues efficiently. Ensure proper documentation and training materials are created and maintained for users and administrators. Develop and implement best practices for system maintenance, upgrades, and user support. Act as a point of escalation for technology-related issues, managing incidents, and ensuring resolution within acceptable timeframes. Champion continuous improvement efforts to enhance system performance, user satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Project Management, or a related field 5+ years project management experience Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a strong emphasis on technology implementation and support in the mining or industrial sector. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Experience managing large-scale technology projects involving system integrations, upgrades, and cross-functional collaboration. Strong technical understanding of mining technology systems (e.g., Fleet management systems, automation, IoT solutions, etc.) Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. PMP , PRINCE2 , or equivalent project management certification is a plus. Availability for 15% international travel Ability to work in remote and on-site mining environments as required. Nice to Have Experience working in other functions involved in new product development: Support/Service, Software, Systems Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Product Marketing, etc. in new product development involving hardware in developing product involving complex certifications: safety, EMC / EMI , etc. working with complex systems Knowledge of Agile frameworks: LeSS , SAFe, Xtreme Programming Certification in Agile roles or frameworks project management product management Wenco advances the efficiency and safety of the world's surface mining equipment through our fleet management systems.
