We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of two critical cybersecurity initiatives: the Security Operations Centre (SOC) and Vulnerability Management projects. These efforts are essential for enhancing the University's cyber maturity in alignment with NIST standards and will mitigate cyber threats to our digital systems and information assets.
The SOC Project aims to centralise security monitoring and log analysis, uplift incident response processes, and integrate threat intelligence systems, delivering a unified security ecosystem. The Vulnerability Management Project will allow proactive identification and remediation of security vulnerabilities, safeguarding our institution against cyber threats and enhancing overall risk mitigation.
You will
Drive the development and successful execution of cybersecurity projects aligned with the University's strategic objectives. Manage resources and budgets to meet project goals, guided by the Project Steering Committee. Foster strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to facilitate project success and drive adoption. Maintain quality assurance, ensuring comprehensive change management for effective project adoption. Serve as the central contact point for project-related inquiries, providing consistent project updates and recommendations. About Engagement & Transformation Services

Engagement & Innovation Services: Driving innovation and IT architecture, this team supports advanced digital technologies across the University. Program Delivery: Oversees portfolio risk, project performance, and change management to ensure effective adoption of project objectives. About you
The ideal applicant is a seasoned Project Manager with extensive experience in delivering complex digital and cybersecurity projects, preferably within a higher education or similarly regulated environment. They possess strong analytical skills and business acumen, with proven expertise in cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF and familiarity with methodologies like Agile, ITIL, or PRINCE2. This individual excels at managing multiple priorities and building collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, ensuring smooth integration, effective change management, and alignment with strategic objectives. With excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to risk mitigation, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes, they are adept at guiding cross-functional teams and fostering a culture of security awareness and innovation.
Selection criteria:
Postgraduate qualifications and substantial experience in digital project delivery, or equivalent education and experience. Expertise in project analytics with familiarity in student information, research management, or ERP systems. Proficiency in digital technology integration within higher education. Strong business acumen to lead digital impact assessments and risk management. Proven project management skills to oversee multiple projects and coordinate teams. Experience in procurement and vendor management, ideally using GITC frameworks. Exceptional communication skills to engage and align diverse stakeholder groups. Knowledge of industry frameworks and methodologies (e.g., ITIL 4.0, COBIT, NIST CSF, Agile, TOGAF, PRINCE2, DevOps, Six Sigma).
