About your new role: As a Project Estimator , you will deliver professional estimating services to the Energy Queensland Substation Portfolio through the application of well-developed estimating capability . We are seeking dedicated project estimators who will play an instrumental role in providing timely, accurate and detailed cost/time estimates, reports and specifications for assigned projects. Support your team as you independently coordinate inputs from a range of internal and external stakeholders, factoring in their inputs into estimates and change analysis. You'll also be advising, coaching, quality checking and performing post project reviews & risk analysis as it relates to all aspects of estimation. This position can be located at Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, and Brisbane (Newstead). With flexi-working and a 9 or 10 day fortnight in place, the salary band starts from $151,765-$173,705 for 9 days and $171,495-$196,287 for 10 days. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant's knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collective Agreement 2024. About you: Important to the success of your role is your: Degree qualification in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Business or Management) or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training is essential. Membership of Australian Cost Engineering Society or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) is desirable. Extensive knowledge and expertise in the application of specialist estimating methodologies, specifically relating to design and construction of substations, generation, and lines projects. Relevant experience and knowledge in Elipse or SAP software and or similar. High level communication, interpersonal and customer relationship management skills. Demonstrated experience in solving complex engineering problems with sound time management, planning and organisational skills. Please be aware whilst utilities experience is beneficial, we will be considering applications from a variety of industry/professional backgrounds.
