Based at our manufacturing hub in Geelong, we are looking to appoint a Project Estimator to provide full-time project support to our growing project team. This is a great opportunity to become part of a company with a great team culture, a strong work ethic, and a growth path.
Successful candidates will possess the following: The role analyses structural steel construction related documentation, bills of quantities, and other project documentation to estimate costs. Researching, sourcing, negotiating, and obtaining the best pricing and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. It is imperative that excellent verbal and written communication is demonstrated by the candidate, to continue and build on their relationships with industry professionals.
This position requires the following: Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or similar professional tertiary qualification with minimum 3 years relevant industry experience in structural steel estimating.Being well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, and well-disciplined.Having an analytical mindset.Being familiar with on-screen take-off systems and various estimating software systems, such as Bluebeam.The confidence to participate in pre-contract negotiations and tender reviews.System-orientated person with advanced computer skills.Ability to read and create drawings, reports, engineering documents, and specifications.Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism.Strong financial and commercial acumen.Administrative capability to manage cost control, pricing, and scheduling.Neat professional appearance and pleasant manner.The ability to work autonomously as required.Duties: Collaborating as part of a broader estimating team.Preparing tender bid submissions and estimates for projects.Measuring and pricing tender packages, including the establishment of preliminaries, subcontractor tenders, and take-offs.Effectively scoping work packages and sourcing Sub Contractor and Supplier quotes and prices.Analysing data relating to land, buildings, or construction.Undertaking due diligence in interpreting the cost/risk implications of tender documentation.Compiling tender documentation and completing tender schedules as required.Providing direction to Project Managers and Management.Effectively handing over project budgets and quotes to the project delivery team, at project award.Identifying value engineering items and evaluating implications.Preparing project budgets and cash flows.Consulting with other clients and professionals.What we can offer: Competitive salary structure.Starting remuneration commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications.Employee Assistance Program (EAP), well-being assistance. #J-18808-Ljbffr
