We are looking for aProject Engineering Lead to join the Greenfield team.This is an integral lead position responsible for a portfolio of civil and road-related upgrade and maintenance projects, and the leadership of the Projects team.
Strong civil engineering, consulting, and project management skills are required in project work day-to-day, and in the leadership and supervision of a team to deliver this work, including Project Engineers, Site Inspectors, and an Asset Manager.
The Project Engineering Lead will work collaboratively across departments in the organisation to deliver projects successfully, and to meet Greenfield objectives. A strong focus on leadership, project delivery, safety and quality are paramount.
Accountabilities Project Engineering Lead Leads a Project Engineering team in the provision of specialist civil engineering technical advice and consulting services to clients. Manages a portfolio of civil and road-related upgrade and maintenance projects to meet and exceed client expectations. Identifies necessary technical and engineering resources needed to complete projects and allocates resources to deliver work. Provides leadership, supervision, coaching and mentoring to the Projects team for the safe and effective delivery of projects. Provide indirect supervision of other staff within Greenfield to ensure the effective delivery of projects (e.g. Project Administrators, Civil Engineers). Reviews and critiques engineering data, deliverables, documentation, and other information as required for the project. Identifies, reviews, and proposes practical engineering solutions meeting client needs. Determines appropriate implementation strategies, tools, and technologies. Establishes priorities to meet engineering and technical deadlines. Project Management Scopes, plans, designs, or carries out jobs or tasks with or without well-defined objectives and outcomes. Determines appropriate implementation strategies, tools, and technologies. Adapts to changing work priorities and workplace practices. Uses a range of assessment techniques to monitor the success of a project or task including setting project milestones. Establishes priorities to meet deadlines. Modifies project work plans as appropriate and communicates those changes to the team to ensure the project is not derailed. Provides ongoing project updates regarding progress to keep others informed of status and outstanding issues. Develop, track and assess project schedules and budgets. Identify areas requiring attention or action promptly and takes decisive and effective action to correct financial performance. Leadership Builds a cohesive team with clarity around goals and accountabilities. Builds team commitment by demonstrating personal conviction. Obtains needed personnel, resources and information for the team. Supports individuals and the team, delegating responsibilities appropriately. Brings together the best possible group to achieve objectives. Motivates others to deliver against goals. Stakeholder Management Lead and manage stakeholder engagement. Prepare accurate, timely and professional project reports and updates for key stakeholders. Manage contractors and subcontractors in accordance with contractual documentation. Prepare project reports and updates for key stakeholders. Qualifications & Experience Tertiary qualification in civil engineering or equivalent. Business Administration, Commerce, Project Management, or similar qualification (at a minimum, experience in a similar capacity is required). Minimum 5 years' experience as a Project or Civil Engineer in a related industry. Demonstrated experience in the management and leadership of teams. Membership of Engineers Australia. Skills and Knowledge Well-developed conceptual, analytical, and planning skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy in the use of Microsoft suite applications. Client management, relations, and negotiation skills. Business administration processes and procedures including accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, procurement, cash-flow, accounting, employment and human resources, subcontractor management and regulatory compliance. Well-developed negotiation and problem-solving skills. The proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage project teams. Other Requirements: Ability to work irregular hours occasionally. Ability to travel to and stay at other Greenfield offices or site-based locations occasionally. Current and valid Australian Driver's License. Satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
