Job Summary:As Project Engineer, you will interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate the engineering technical aspects for complex projects.
You will participate in project planning, proposal review, and will own the engineering elements of capital estimates.
Your technical guidance and recommendations will ensure engineering aspects meet project requirements and remain within scope and budget.
Major Responsibilities:Supervises the engineering activity (all disciplines) on a small project, or designated portions of a project, for a global business unit.Plans and directs engineering assignments on the project.Possesses technical responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments.Ensures the facilities are designed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner in accordance with policies and all applicable laws, regulations, authorization basis, codes, standards, and technical requirements.Represents Engineering on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions, expedite procurements, coordinate construction interfaces, and as required to coordinate work.Ensures work process execution and technical adequacy are in accordance with contract and industry standards.Coordinates engineering effort with Project Manager, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H), and Project Controls.Prepares or directs the preparation of project studies, reports, forecasts, special engineering reports, and project scope of works.Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution.Education and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:Previous experience managing multi-discipline engineering works.Experience working in a client's organization as part of an integrated team.Experience in Transmission and Terminal Station construction is very desirable.Bechtel is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
