Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) has a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct Stage Two (SQCP-S2) Project Team responsible for recruiting, training and ensuring the safety of staff in readiness for the opening of the Lockyer Valley Correctional Centre (LVCC). The LVCC is the new flagship correctional centre located in Gatton.
Naturally, the people, training, engagement and safety functions are pivotal to the operational effectiveness and success of the Centre.
This is a critical leadership role in the Project, steering the development and implementation of the above functions in readiness for day one opening.

This role is accountable for the delivery of three sub-work packages and activities: recruitment, selection and rosters; onboarding and training; and health safety and wellbeing.
You will be collaborating closely with other project stream leads and corporate functions, to ensure that your areas of responsibility are completed within project scope, timeframes, milestones, and budget.
This senior opportunity will require the successful candidate to have experience in leveraging existing corporate frameworks, building strong and sustainable stakeholder relationships, applying their extensive knowledge in devising fit-for-purpose models, and delivering project outcomes in a program governance and reporting structure.

In the main, this role will: Manage the delivery of strategic workforce attraction, recruitment and selection activities, union engagement, roster modelling to ensure LVCC has the right staff at the right time.Manage the delivery of all onboarding and training activities to ensure workforce readiness for Centre opening.Manage the delivery of all health safety and wellbeing processes and practices for the Centre, ensuring that safety is at the forefront of the LVCC culture.Lead the management and resolution of complex operational human resources issues.Manage inter and intra dependencies, corporate integration, and stream coordination while building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.Establish and maintain the Strategic People and Engagement package of work including the Program's master schedule, governance, risk and reporting as well as various Project delivery plans aligned to various Project milestones.This is a Brisbane based role and will require travel to Gatton and various locations in SE-Qld to support project and team delivery.
