Due to ongoing successful project acquisitions, they are seeking a seasoned Project Director to join their Brisbane team and lead significant commercial development projects (portfolio exceeds $1B - $2B plus).
To ensure success, you should have a demonstrated track record of delivering full lifecycle commercial projects (new build/brownfield) valued in excess of $200M - $400M plus, whether funded by state or private entities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Managing commercial construction projects.
Responsible for managing the team on a Commercial project exceeding $200M plus.
Responsible for the planning, financial and budgeting aspects.
Manage and report the assigned program of work to achieve program objectives in accordance with corporate policy and contractual agreements.
Manage and anticipate project changes, adjusting plans and activities accordingly.
Oversee and monitor key milestones for project through regular project reviews and analysis of potential risks to ensure delivery of program objectives.
Ensure all project deliverables are of high quality prior to handover.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align and agree program of work and anticipate changes that may impact the program of work.
Manage performance, compliance and expectations of resources and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
Education & Experience:
Proven experience in construction project management, demonstrating success in end-to-end delivery of several projects with single contracts exceeding $200M plus.
Successfully managed various commercial, mixed-use, accommodation, and social infrastructure projects.
Experienced in managing project stakeholders, consultancies, and construction delivery teams.
Capable of leading and motivating a team to achieve results in terms of time, cost, and quality.
Strong industry knowledge, including structural engineering and building design principles, with the ability to identify design issues and scope of works.
Excellent reporting and communication skills, including cost control and documentation, ensuring efficient project operations.
Able to communicate effectively at all levels, including clients, design consultants, site managers, and subcontractors.
Demonstrated commitment to prioritizing safety and mitigating risk.
Ideal candidate has a tertiary background in Construction Management or Engineering, with further supporting qualifications such as project management, design or contract law.
