In light of our continued growth within the industry, and continually growing portfolio of projects, we are currently seeking an experienced Project Director to be responsible and accountable for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, general management, integration, and closing of the civil construction projects assigned to them.
Key Responsibilities Responsible for the engineering construction of all civil projects that are completed by the company. Includes remaining aware of all potential works, taking into consideration current workload, location of works, client, applicable council and degree of difficulty. Work closely with the project team on costing changes to the project scope and/or pricing of variations to ensure the project meets financial goals. Includes conducting regular and ongoing meetings with the project team and field staff to remain informed of project work and facilitate resolution of presented or developing issues. Regularly review operations to identify areas of improvement and opportunity to reduce costs whilst still meeting service and delivery requirements including capital equipment, staffing levels or location. Represent SEE Civil's position with the client in any contract negotiations or disputes, including ensuring sound and cooperative working relationships are developed and maintained with both existing and potential clients. May also entail preparing tenders and contract bids. Responsible and accountable for the effective programming and construction methodologies of all site works, as well as the coordination of employees, subcontractors, procurement, plant and equipment required for the projects. Responsible for project compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and standards, as well as keeping informed of all developments in legislative requirements, industry standards and best practices of the construction of projects and ensure that these are followed at all times with a high priority to workplace health and safety. Ensure that plant, equipment, staff and subcontractors operate within safe working conditions, and assist in maintaining accreditations required to be held by SEE Group Pty Ltd or its subsidiaries for works e.g. FSC, QMS and TMR. Provide advice, support and assistance to project staff and clients in relation to any technical and/or complex problems that may arise during project life. Responsible for the overall financial performance of the projects and exercising financial control over operations expenditure of the project. Also responsible for monthly assessments and forecasts of project's financial performance against goals, as well as term financial and project reporting. Where required, arranging submission of plans to local authorities, as well as arranging building inspections by local authorities. Qualifications, Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification – Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar
- Current Drivers Licence
- First Aid/CPR
