Project Director

Details of the offer

Our client is seeking a Project Director to join their team on a long-term contract.
Main responsibilities:
Develop, execute, and assess project plans and timelines, ensuring alignment with the agency's project management framework and accounting for project interdependencies.
Collaborate effectively with team members and engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination.
Ensure timely and on-budget completion of project deliverables and milestones.
Lead and manage staff, overseeing performance, attendance, and their overall health and wellbeing.
Enhance staff capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning initiatives.
Provide strategic advice and feedback to stakeholders and the agency's executive team.
Report on project objectives and outcomes for executive presentations and ensure continuous project reporting.
Oversee, review, and offer guidance on written materials such as business cases, plans, reports, executive and ministerial briefs, and corporate documents.
Plan, manage, and monitor financial budgets, while supervising contract management, procurement, resource allocation, and expenditure.
Identify, assess, manage, and escalate project risks and issues, while developing mitigation strategies and tracking project benefits.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Proven experience managing large-scale projects within government or similar organizations.
Ability to enhance the agency's continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing systems, processes, and tools related to project management and reporting.
Capability to deliver ICT and design components as specified in the RFQ.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, fostering a cohesive cross-functional team environment.
Experience in tracking complex ICT projects, including providing support to resolve blocking issues.
Proficiency in independently producing talking points, project documentation, conducting research, and resolving issues.
At least 5 years of experience managing large-scale projects within government.
