MVRC is well underway with realising its vision to deliver an iconic new precinct, which will transform the Moonee Valley Racecourse into a world-class sports, community, and entertainment precinct.MVRC is offering a fantastic opportunity to join the team in the role of Project Development Manager. Reporting to the Project Director, the role will play an integral part in the redevelopment of the Moonee Valley Racecourse as part of the 'Valley of Tomorrow' vision.The $2B redevelopment of the Moonee Valley Racing Club involves the development of the 10-hectare Moonee Valley Park (MVP), together with the development of the 30-hectare MVRC Racecourse Development. The redevelopment will transform the site into a residential landmark and the new premium neighborhood of Melbourne's inner north.The Racecourse Works Masterplan was approved by the Moonee Valley City Council in October 2021, endorsing the reconfiguration of the racetrack, development of the new Event Centre, Clubhouse and associated community facilities, and the opening of the infield for public use, events, sport and recreational activities.The project will create a world-leading racing and entertainment precinct and reinforce Victoria's position at the pinnacle of the thoroughbred racing industry in Australia.About the roleThe Project Development Manager will join a team of skilled professionals focused on implementing the redevelopment of the MVRC in Moonee Ponds, Melbourne.The role requires advanced development and project management skills and experience across the development life cycle to ensure development objectives are delivered in line with time, cost, and quality requirements.The role requires a high level of engagement with all project stakeholders (both internal and external) in the implementation of the collective project vision and objectives embedded in this unique mixed-use development.As a key member of the MVRC Property Team, you will contribute to the overall strategy and success of the MVRC, including your departmental contribution and that of the Club overall. You will also play a key role in promoting and guiding strong cultural initiatives along with supporting innovation and change.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Project Director in the leadership and management of the MVRC's design and construction of the new event centre, racetrack and associated racing facilities.Assist the Project Director in the leadership and management of MVRC's interest in the MVP development.Ensure on time / on budget delivery of all MVRC project's stages.In conjunction with the Project Director, provide input and expertise to all elements and sub-projects of the MVRC Masterplan.Build and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Actively manage the lifecycle of development.Work across multiple projects of varying scale within the overall complex development.Moonee Valley Racing Club, various business pillars and support divisions.Candidate RequirementsThe role will suit an experienced Development Manager or Project Manager looking to transition to Development Management, with strong project management and development management skills who is looking to work on one of Melbourne's legacy developments.The successful candidate will ideally possess the following skills and experience:Degree qualified in a development / project management related discipline.7 + years' experience, with experience across the full Development cycle.Project, cost, and risk/opportunity management expertise.Experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary consultant teams.Ability to proactively manage and lead a high performance and outcomes-oriented team.Work with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility to meet the requirements of the role.Strong relationship management, communication and influencing skills.What We OfferExcellent remuneration package including salary packaging.Industry leading paid parental leave scheme.Long Service Leave in addition to the National Employment Standards.Industry leading Hostplus superannuation insurance cover including free Death, TPD and Salary Continuance.Free (on-site) parking.Racing industry ticketing.Discounted gym membership.A sense of belonging; being a part of a team that supports each other and encourages professional and personal growth.Support, mentoring and training through our online learning platform and from the Project Director and diverse existing skillset in the organisation.To apply online, please click on the appropriate link provided or visit www.thevalley.com.au/careers to view a position description.Applications close: Thursday 12th December 2024 at 5:00pm.
