About the Role Reporting to Team Leader Project Development, the role focuses on developing road safety, road infrastructure improvement and congestion mitigation project proposals in accordance with corporate guidelines under broad supervision.
The role requires undertaking, managing, and overseeing technical assessments for various project needs, determining scope feasibility, developing and analysing various project options, taking into consideration cost and risks, to achieve optimal project outcomes.
The team involves projects that require collaboration with a range of internal and external stakeholders (including the community) to develop well thought through road solutions for the Inner Metro transport network and to improve road safety and accessibility for all road users.
Exercise professional independent judgement to develop road project proposals in accordance with corporate guidelines under supervision.Apply effective project management skills and lead project development activities such as project scoping, traffic modelling, design investigation/development, stakeholder engagement and liaison, risk management, project costing and the preparation of road safety and infrastructure improvement project proposals to time, cost and quality requirements.Provide sound written and verbal advice to key internal and external stakeholders on project proposals.Use negotiation and influencing skills to reach successful outcomes with key stakeholders in relation to the application of policies and guidelines relating to project proposals.Exercise professional judgement to actively participate in self-development, implementation of change, while showing initiative and making a positive contribution to the team.In line with Section 31A of the Public Administration Act 2004 (Vic), other duties may be assigned consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities.The ideal candidate demonstrates foundational project development skills by executing tasks according to plan, prioritizing based on urgency and impact when plans are undefined, and maintaining accurate records while meeting budget and timeline objectives.
