The Australian Ocean Data Network (AODN) is seeking a dedicated and organised Project Coordinator to support the delivery of data from national environmental data collection programs to stakeholders for research, decision-making, and other uses.
In this dynamic role, you will assist in coordinating projects involving skilled software and data engineers who are passionate about technology and building impactful products for the marine science community. Your efforts will contribute to the sustainable use of our marine environment. This role will see you directly support project and program management functions including program governance, finance and procurement, organisation, information management, and communication.
Key Responsibilities: Support the day-to-day functions of the AODN team including team administration, reference to UTAS policies and procedures, project administration and supporting logistical arrangements for the team.Coordinate and administer labour-hire and vendor contracts, procurement, payment processes, and third-party software subscriptions.Organise and participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, review sessions, and training schedules.Support the induction and onboarding/offboarding of project team members and vendor resources.Provide program governance support, including risk, issue, decision, and dependency tracking, follow-up, and reporting.Establish and maintain project artefacts such as deliverables registers, business endorsement reviews, lessons learnt, and quality reviews.What's Required: Extensive understanding of project management principles, financial and governance controls, and risk/issue/dependency management.Proficiency in using standard project management and delivery tools, including MS Office applications.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and deliver high-quality outputs.Excellent written skills for producing reports that communicate complex technical information, along with strong verbal communication skills.Ability to operate autonomously within the role's boundaries, exercising discretion, good judgment, and taking shared responsibility for project outcomes.Ideally you would also have experience working within a project management office delivering digital technology projects and are familiar with working in an agile development team.
Qualifications and Licence: Completion of a degree in project management or a similar field with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.How to Apply: If this role is of interest, we look forward to hearing from you.
