As our highly valued Project & Engagement Manager - Expo 2025, you'll contribute to ensuring a bright future for Queensland, Australia and our global partners. And you'll do this with people who want you to grow and progress.
World Expo 2025 (Expo 2025) will be hosted in Osaka, Kansai, Japan and will run for six months from 13 April to 13 October 2025 (inclusive). The Australian government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) will host the Australia Pavilion. Australia will be one of over 160 nations participating in Expo 2025, under the overarching theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives" and will use Expo 2025 to deepen its relationship with Japan while shining a spotlight on the best of Australian business, innovation, exports, sport and culture to a highly influential global audience.
Reporting to the Executive Director, SEC, you will have the opportunity to develop and deliver a comprehensive program of events and missions for Expo 2025, along with establishing a diverse stakeholder matrix (domestic and international). You will also be responsible for implementing strategic engagement plans and reporting measures to ensure the program objectives and targets are met, while actively leading the day-to-day operations and mitigating key risks.
Based in Brisbane, here's what your role will involve:
Manage and oversee the design, implementation, planning and delivery of Queensland's Expo 2025 program in partnership with DFAT.Lead the development of a comprehensive project plan to identify key deliverables and milestones to meet objectives and deliver a program of work through a range of activities, including events, missions and collaboration opportunities.Lead and manage the program board, committee and working groups, to ensure the program remains on track and within budget to meet strategic deliverables and effective governance, while mitigating key risks and issues and cultivating a strong culture of collaboration.Manage the $2+ million budget forecast including overseeing reporting and reconciliation, ensuring the project remains within budget while identifying cost-saving opportunities.Prepare regular project status reports on key milestones and deliverables with supporting metrics provided through adequate systems, processes, registers, records and internal controls.Develop, implement and manage the stakeholder engagement plan, to initiate, influence and maintain effective relationships and communication channels with key internal and external stakeholders.You will also enjoy a range of benefits, such as:
