Job Overview: Are you ready to own a dynamic and diverse role in the construction industry? We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Admin and Safety Officer to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on wearing multiple hats and taking charge of their responsibilities. With 80% of your time dedicated to project and compliance administration and 20% focused on safety, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our projects run smoothly and safely.
Responsibilities and Duties: Compliance Documentation: Manage and maintain all compliance-related documentation to ensure alignment with regulatory and client requirements.Risk and WHS Documentation: Update and manage Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and other risk-related documents.Safety Reporting: Report on safety outcomes and create actionable plans for continuous improvement.Safety Practices Implementation: Interpret and implement construction, rail, and marine safety practices to ensure compliance with industry standards.Onboarding and Training: Conduct staff inductions, facilitate training sessions, and maintain accurate records of employee development.Client Compliance Documentation: Gather and document compliance information as required by our clients.Employee Communication: Keep employees informed about training opportunities, safety updates, and any changes in compliance requirements.Calendar Management: Update the Upvise calendar to ensure all relevant information is accessible to staff.Subcontractor Documentation Management: Oversee subcontractor documentation, including SWMS, insurance, and inductions.Tender Assistance: Assist with compliance document preparation and submission of major tender packages.Maintenance Coordination: Track and coordinate plant maintenance activities to ensure equipment is well-maintained and available.Toolbox Meetings: Organise and facilitate site toolbox meetings to discuss safety and project updates.Training Reviews: Conduct regular reviews of employee training to ensure all staff are up-to-date with their qualifications.Return to Work Programs: Coordinate and facilitate return-to-work programs for employees following an injury or illness.Audits: Implement and manage internal and external audits to ensure ongoing compliance with industry standards.Must-Haves: Construction Industry Experience: Proven experience in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of project administration and safety practices.Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety: A formal qualification that demonstrates your knowledge and expertise in workplace health and safety.Public Speaking Skills: Confident and effective communication skills, with the ability to speak to groups and present safety information clearly.If you're ready to take ownership of a critical role in a fast-paced construction environment, we want to hear from you!
