About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Accountant to join our Hunter Class based at Osborne, reporting to the Accounting Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and or hybrid working.
As a Project Accountant you will, support the Finance Manager in maintaining the financial functions within the project to ensure integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision-making.
Key responsibilities include: Support delivery of financial performance and building business knowledge and acumen.
Be a respected and trusted finance business partner within the program and cross-function.
Support delivery of month end, annual budget, Integrated Business Plan and bi-annual Commonwealth estimates.
Analytical review activities for reporting & planning, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial information presented to support informed decision making.
Provide in-depth advice on intricate and challenging financial issues.
Opportunity to improve process both within team and cross-function as needed to enhance both the data that we use, and the information that we share with key stakeholders.
Uphold a strong governance culture, including compliance with Finance Policies, Accounting Standards and Customer contractual requirements.
About YOU Degree qualification in relevant field.
Completed CA or CPA qualification.
Previous experience working in a large project will be highly regarded.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience of adapting these styles to audiences at varying organisational levels.
Ability to understand, analyse and communicate the financial results of the business and financial consequences of specific initiatives/plans.
Ability to work in a team environment and lead and support team members by adapting your style to account for individual differences and motivators.
Ability to liaise and maintain active internal and external network of business partners and peers.
As a Defence security clearance and NSSIC site based access clearance for Osborne Naval Shipyard is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and either possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances.
