As we continue to grow, Umwelt is actively seeking to employ a Program / Project Portfolio Manager to play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of impactful ecological projects across NSW.
As part of a leading environmental and social consultancy, you will oversee our NSW portfolio of ecology projects, ensuring they align with our governance framework while managing budgets and strengthening team project delivery.
This role may involve working closely with a Master Scheduler in NSW and collaborating with similar roles nationally to create a scheduling service that supports efficient project planning and execution.
You will ensure that risk management, financial oversight, and project health reporting are integrated across the entire portfolio, contributing to the continuous improvement of project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the NSW portfolio of ecology projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget control, and alignment with organisational goals Ensure adherence to our project governance framework, maintaining compliance with project management standards and policies Identify and manage risks and issues at both the project and portfolio levels, developing mitigation strategies as needed Provide regular, data-driven reports on portfolio health, covering financial performance, risks, issues, and overall project progress Drive initiatives to uplift the project delivery capabilities of our ecology teams, promoting best practices and continuous improvement Key Requirements: Project management qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or a degree in Project Management.
P3O or MoP certification highly regarded 10+ years of experience program managing a portfolio of projects, preferably in the environmental or professional services consulting sectors Strong understanding of project governance, budget management, and risk mitigation in a multi-project environment Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, driving project success Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project or similar) and methodologies Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills We are seeking a proactive leader to take charge of this pivotal role and drive the success of our ecological projects that truly make an impact.
