Join Australian Business Volunteers as our Program Coordinator in either Rockhampton or Bundaberg and drive an intersectional approach to improve disaster resilience and health in the three-year Resilient Care program, delivered in partnership with Country to Coast Queensland.
The role reports to the ABV Team Leader – Program Coordinator.
Locations: Rockhampton (serving Rockhampton and Livingstone LGAs) x 1Bundaberg (serving south Gladstone and Bundaberg LGAs) x 1About the Role As Program Coordinator, you will deliver the ABV components of the Resilient Care program, in partnership with Country to Coast Queensland in your region.
You will coordinate the Resilient Care program activities in the relevant LGAs, taking a community-led, place-based approach in line with ABV's community development model.
Stakeholder Engagement Establish and maintain productive relationship with CCQ Primary Care Coordinators, Healthy Ageing Coordinators and Program Managers.Establish strong relationships across the areas of responsibility in order to facilitate engagement and coordination with local councils, community organisations/ members, businesses, and other stakeholders to enhance program outcomes.Scope needs and opportunities of groups, individuals and businesses within the identified communities, and, as appropriate, make the offer of support.Brief community partners/ members, aligning expectations of community partners/ members and volunteers around the support to be provided.Program Delivery: Assist the Team Leader in planning and executing the program including:Supporting the development and maintenance of implementation plans, proposals, schedules, and resource allocation.Contributing to program monitoring and evaluation activities, including gathering feedback, data collection, analysis, and reporting.Contributing to community needs assessments and resilience studies for the target LGAs.Support the Program Facilitators in the facilitation of meetings, workshops, presentations and other engagement activities and encourage active participation.Identify emerging needs of community and opportunities to support locally driven priorities and governance in alignment with program goals.Support design and implementation of identified community projects, providing capacity building where required.Connect communities/ members with skilled volunteers, services, and funding opportunities.Communications and Development Support communications and monitoring activities as required, including the development of a communications plan, case studies and collection of data, photos, and other collateral for ABV and partner communications.Assist in preparing regular progress reports and other documentation for the Team Leader and CCQ Program Manager.Identify and communicate opportunities for continual improvement and constructively work with the ABV team to develop solutions and implement.About You You are a well-connected community development practitioner with a deep understanding of community-driven initiatives and disaster resilience in the Wide Bay and Central Queensland region and a passion for establishing local networks and knowledge.
Your qualifications and experience include:
Relevant qualifications in community development, social work, project/program management, business administration, or similar.Demonstrated skills and experience in place-based community development work, including community engagement, mediation, facilitation and/ or advocacy.Demonstrated experience in project coordination and /or program management, preferably in community-led initiatives or disaster resilience.Skills/ability to develop and maintain strong networks with a range of government and non-government organisations.Proficiency in engaging and facilitating across a wide diversity of community groups and interests, including consensus building, collaborative working with an outcomes driven approach.Ability to work autonomously and in a team, with flexibility for out-of-hours work and travel.Excellent interpersonal, persuasive, and oral and written communication skills with the ability to achieve buy-in from all stakeholders and achieve agreed outcomes.Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timeframes, troubleshoot, and to meet short- and long-term deadlines.Strong local experience, knowledge, and networks across a variety of professional, economic, and social settings.Desired requirements Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and approaches.Demonstrated knowledge & commitment to principles of health equity and place-based community development frameworksMandatory Satisfactory National Police CheckHold a QLD Working with Children Check Blue Card or willing to obtainSignificant travel within the role's allocated region is required for this role.
