Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/SA897673 This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2024 Lesmurdie Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a passionate and committed professional to fill a permanent position as Program Coordinator, Lower School Manager. The successful applicant will ideally display experience in leading a Student Support team and will be responsible for supporting student learning across Years 7, 8 and 9. In collaboration with the Principal and the School Executive Team, you should provide educational leadership in the school and community by promoting the school's vision, priorities and strategic directions as reflected in the Lesmurdie SHS Business Plan. The Lower School Manager should have high level interpersonal and communication skills to form effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
As Lower School Manager you should be innovative and knowledgeable, ideally possessing the ability to work with external agencies to build partnerships and develop a climate of trust within the school and wider community. You should be an integral member of the Leadership Team whilst working in partnership with other key staff. Experience in disability, positive behaviour support and mental health planning would be highly regarded, as is expertise in the use of Compass as an attendance and behavioural management platform. Lesmurdie SHS is a full Bring your own device (BYOD) school – expertise in supporting student safety and wellbeing in addition to maximising student success in a digital environment is essential.
One of your key responsibilities would be to develop and deliver programs that support Year 7 to 9 students across the school aligned with our Business Plan priorities. This includes promoting the school's values, positive education practices and student care.
You should establish and manage administrative and operational systems in the relevant areas of responsibility to deliver effective school operations within legislative and industrial policy and guidelines. You should play a significant role in the daily management of the Student Support team with a proven ability in developing and establishing a positive and caring learning environment, underpinning our core values: Curiosity, Aspiration, Respect and Environment. Being highly organised and creative with an ability to work well within a team are highly desirable attributes of this role.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings; High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes; Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
