This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025Carnarvon Community College (CC) is seeking to establish a Program Coordinator – Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) role to continue to strengthen the Quality Teaching supporting Learning (QTL) agenda in this high-quality regional setting.
This position will actively support the Regional Graduate Teacher Hub, while also enabling graduate teachers to progress and develop their skills and career progression using the Professional Standards for Teachers in Western Australia (PSTWA).Carnarvon CC an Independent Public School which caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 (K-12) and proudly serves the Carnarvon community.

It is a hub of natural rugged beauty, whilst also being a great place to rest, relax and recharge.Find out more about our school by visiting or The RoleThe Program Coordinator - HALT, in collaboration with the Principal and members of the senior leadership team, will provide educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision, core values and service principles.Under the leadership of the Principal and leadership team, the suitable applicant will use established and agreed improvement strategies to implement effective Quality Teaching and Learning practices across all Learning Areas in line with the school's QTL framework.Suitable applicants will facilitate workforce effectiveness and provide a role model for self-development to improve professional performance using the PSTWA.The Program Coordinator - HALT contributes to the development of the school plan through participative decision making, including assisting in developing policy and establishing and maintaining systems.The role is also responsible for establishing and managing administrative and operational systems in the relevant area of responsibility to ensure the effective operation of the school within departmental policy and guidelines.The program coordinator will work in a culturally responsive and context specific manner to productively and respectfully engage stakeholders.An outstanding ability to demonstrate innovative, bold and creative solutions and a proven track record in working collaboratively to solve complex problems, are essential to this position.
Additionally, the role will require: classroom teaching – up to 0.6FTEinstructional leadershipmentoring staff with a particular focus on new, international, and graduate teachers where applicabledelivering professional learningproviding feedback to assist teacher proficiency expectations.driving a culture of lifelong professional learning and high expectations In accordance with the trial of this targeted position, the Principal at the applicant's substantive work site is encouraged to provide the right of return at the conclusion on the 2 year fixed-term vacancy.
Priority is afforded to the backfilling of the successful applicant before their release to the Program Coordinator – HALT.Existing Level 3 Classroom Teachers (L3CT) or AITSL verified HALT's from other jurisdictions are encouraged to apply.
The commencing increment for a L3CT or a HALT from another jurisdiction is School Administrator step 3.2 and progress to step 3.3.

Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year.
