THE ROLE As the Profit Protection Manager ANZ, you will play a crucial role in developing and driving the Profit Protection strategy across Australia & New Zealand, aligning with global objectives to reduce shrinkage from theft, errors, and external threats. You'll lead the ANZ Profit Protection team, ensuring financial, operational, and strategic goals are met.
Reporting into the Chief Financial & Operating Officer, this role willbe responsible for, but not limited to:
Support the business in achieving Shrink targets, as agreed in the Business strategyMonitor and manage shrinkage in the distribution centre, ensuring oversight of all security measures to prevent lossPrioritise incoming security information for the Territory Profit Protection Managers and Retail Team, ensuring deadlines are metAssist in developing the strategic Profit Protection plan, aligning with global best practices for JD SportsEnsure the Profit Protection Team's actions align with overall company strategyIdentify and implement initiatives to significantly reduce risk and costEffectively communicate with Support Office and store teams to maintain company standards and ensure consistency across the territoryImplement processes that facilitate change while addressing resistanceMaintain all security systems, including EAS, CCTV, and Merchandise ProtectionWork collaboratively with Retail, HR, and other departments to achieve company targetsAttend and oversee serious security incidents, stock losses, and investigations to successful conclusionsProvide timely information and statistics to the Associate Group Profit Protection DirectorStay up to date on employment and criminal law changes, communicating updates to Territory Profit Protection ManagersMaintain strong relationships with external agencies (e.g., police, local authorities, mall partnerships) to ensure proper service for storesRepresent the company at external and internal meetings to achieve objectivesComplete ad-hoc tasks as directed by the CFO and Associate Profit Protection DirectorDevelop business cases that receive approval, secure financial and technical resources, and gain management support to enforce changesLead with a results-oriented approach, showcasing strong influencing skills while navigating a fast-paced environment and managing multiple responsibilitiesInvestigations Conduct thorough investigations into theft, fraud, and breaches of policies both internally and externallySupport HR and State Management with statement-taking and interviewing, working within Employment Relations boundariesCoach and develop the Profit Protection Team on the investigation processEnsure stock inventory investigations meet required standards and drive improvementsBusiness Process Improvement Continuously seek opportunities to reduce operating costs and enhance efficiency and productivityAssist in identifying, testing, and executing new system solutions for Profit ProtectionImplement procedures to ensure efficient use of company resourcesEnsure all Profit Protection system solutions are fully functional and delivering the intended return on investmentMonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of security operations, making recommendations for improvementsTeam Leadership Conduct regular reviews with Profit Protection ManagersProvide guidance and support to the Profit Protection Managers in meeting Group Loss TargetsWHO YOU ARE 5-7 years in a similar position or Multi Site environment across Australia & New ZealandExperience in Warehouse or Distribution CentreGeneral retail Loss Prevention/Risk Management experience within an associated environmentIntermediate excel, word and PowerPoint skillsProven experience in dealing with suppliersIdeally WZ certificationPrevious experience developing site bump in for security equipment including intrusion devices, access control systems and CCTVAbility to work with and manage multiple data sources to achieve a conclusive outcomeAbility to work cross functionally across time zones and cultures to achieve operational excellenceAnalytical leader experienced in performance-based action and results oriented management, as well as strong project manager and effective problem solverWHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
