The School offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in the Accounting, Economics & Finance disciplines as well as research-based doctoral degrees. ABOUT THE ROLE The School of Law & Business seeks to appoint a legal academic on our Fremantle campus. Responsibilities include the coordination and delivery of law courses and programs. The role will also include involvement in special projects and leadership in relation to the design, implementation and ongoing review of curriculum and accreditation activities of undergraduate and/or post graduate programs. You will be under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, and be expected to contribute to research, teaching, and service within the School and profession. Key Responsibilities Undertake program coordination, leading curriculum design and overseeing the programs.Lead curriculum mapping of programs in consultation with academic staff within the faculty.Collaborate with existing University partners to ensure program delivery.Develop significant external partnerships in the relevant disciplines to create and maintain pathways for student enrolments.Manage accreditation and other regulatory processes that includes the management of international students.Support the marketing, prospective students, and international offices in the recruitment of students.Conduct of research and development of research policy Fostering the research of other groups and individuals within the department or other comparable organisational unit and within the discipline and within related disciplines. Supervision of the program of study of honour students or of postgraduate students engaged in course work, and /or supervision of major honours or postgraduate research projects. The preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars and the conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops and other such classes. Qualifications, skills & experience PhD or equivalent accreditation Prior experience in the legal profession is essential. Ideally recognised as a leading authority in the relevant discipline area evidenced by a record of demonstrable scholarly and professional achievement.Experience in teaching and expertise in one or more legal history, alternative dispute resolution, equity, trust, constitutional law, human recourse management or modern slavery and human trafficking.Academic excellence evidenced by an outstanding contribution to teaching, research and the profession. Applicants must also express a priority to teaching and the pastoral care of students.Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including supporting international students. Demonstrated experience embedding Indigenous knowledge and ethics.Demonstrated ability in developing resources/curriculum documents as well as criteria and standards-based assessment tasks. Ability to incorporate technology (e.g. Blackboard, Zoom, TEAMAS email, internet) into teaching and learning.
