About This OpportunityThe University of Queensland (UQ) and global technology leader Cisco have united in a dynamic three-year partnership to transform Australia's cybersecurity landscape.
Together, they aim to develop cutting-edge network security capabilities, shape the future of research, and cultivate the next generation of cybersecurity professionals via a jointly funded Professorial position.
As the inaugural Professor in Advanced Network Security as part of the Cisco and UQ partnership, you will be at the forefront of innovation, leading groundbreaking research and driving new strategies to secure Australia's digital future.
Joining a world-class team of researchers and experts, you'll play a pivotal role in establishing a high-impact research centre that will influence both national and international cybersecurity agendas.
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the National Industry Innovation Network (NIIN), Australia's largest innovation network, where industry and academia unite to accelerate digital transformation.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work with industry and government partners on global initiatives, setting the course for future research and securing international funding for our joint initiatives.

About YouAlongside the completion of a PhD in a relevant field, our ideal candidate will be internationally recognised for their leadership and expertise in network security, demonstrated by an impressive portfolio of high-impact publications and successful leadership of major research projects funded by competitive external grants.
They will have a proven ability to lead and collaborate with teams across industry and academia, engaging in large-scale research initiatives.
With excellent communication and networking skills, the successful individual will have a strong track record of impactful translational research and substantial industry partnerships.
Additionally, they will have a history of successfully supervising research students to completion and delivering high-quality teaching, course coordination, and program development across various academic levels.
They will also excel in mentoring and capacity building in research.
What We Can OfferThis position is a full-time, fixed-term appointment at Academic (Teaching and Research) Level E at The University of Queensland, for a period of three years with the potential to extend.
The full-time equivalent Level E base salary will start from $208,288 plus super of up to 17%.
The total FTE package will start from $243,697 per annum.
