As a member association, it represents and supports over 100 member colleges throughout Australia that provide quality English language programs to students from around the world.
It supports its members in many ways, including advocacy with government, professional development programs and events, stakeholder connections, and market intelligence and promotion.About Our TeamThe Secretariat of English Australia consists of a small team lead by the CEO and Head of Professional Development.English Australia also has a 14-member Board who are elected by our member colleges.About the RoleThis is an exciting, fun, busy role and a critical position within the Secretariat team at English Australia.

The role requires an organised, engaged, positive, pro-active person who wants to be part of serving and supporting our fantastic member colleges and affiliates.The role reports predominantly to the Head of Professional Development, with some duties that involve supporting the CEO.
The position is focused on the English Australia professional development events and programs and provides key support with communications and administrative functions.
Specific accountabilities for the role are:Professional Development Programs SupportSupport the Head of Professional Development with the administration of professional development webinars, workshops, conferences, and other professional learning programs.Assist with coordination and logistics of events for the English Australia Professional Development program.Coordinate activities for the English Australia Special Interest Groups in collaboration with the Head of Professional Development, including scheduling meetings, managing communications, and organizing resources.Upload and configure pre-designed courses to the English Australia Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accurate course set-up.Provide administrative support for the English Australia Journal, including the digital upload of editions to the English Australia website and other databases.Assist with the administration of the English Australia Awards program, including managing applications, coordinating promotions, and awards presentation logistics.CommunicationsCoordinate, schedule, and help develop content for email and social media communications.Manage the association's social media accounts, including content creation.Help maintain and update the English Australia website.Design promotional collateral such as digital flyers, programs, web banners, and certificates.Assist with design and formatting of official submissions, board papers, and reports.Uphold and promote the organisation's brand identity through all communications and ensure messaging aligns with the association's mission and values.General Administrative SupportMonitor the association's main enquiries email inbox and respond to email enquiries.Maintain member and mailing databases.Support with other administrative tasks as necessary.About YouWe're looking for someone who has the following skills and qualities:Experience working in the ELICOS and a passion for the English language teaching sector.Commitment to quality and dedication to maintaining high standards of work in line with our mission and values.Outstanding written and spoken communication skills.Excellent organisational skills and a structured approach to managing tasks and meeting deadline.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to effectively manage time and prioritise tasks to consistently meet deadlines.Strong customer support and service skills with a proactive professional approach to engaging with members and stakeholders, ensuring a high standard of service.Excellent attention to detail, especially in written work.Effective design skills: Ability to create clear, visually appealing designs for posters, promotions and social media.Proactive problem-solving skills with an ability to identify challenges and flag them with managers.Experience in using and maintaining contact databases.Employment Conditions:Employment Type: Permanent Full time (38 hours/week).Location:The candidate will work from home with some local and limited interstate travel.Requirements: The candidate must be a permanent resident in Australia and have full work rights.A cover letter outlining how you meet the requirements of the role (2 pages max).Your application should be emailed to Sophie O'Keefe at with the subject heading: Application: Communications and Professional Development Coordinator.Applications close at 11:59pm on 21 November 2024.#J-18808-Ljbffr
