Our client is seeking a reliable and skilled Production Assembly Welder Trade Assistant to join their team in Derrimut.
In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling components in line with production schedules, ensuring all work meets Australian Standards, and complying with the company's Quality Management System and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
You'll be a key player in the production process, helping to ensure timely and quality delivery of our products.
Key Responsibilities: Fabrication & Assembly: You will fabricate and assemble components as per work instructions and production schedules.
This includes welding, drilling (base, flat, and ripple plates), countersinking, buffing, and grinding of plates.
Compliance & Safety: Adhere to our client's strict quality and WHS standards, ensuring all work is performed safely and to high-quality standards.
Report any defects and anomalies immediately.
Inventory & Stock Monitoring: Monitor stock levels of consumables (e.g., welding wire, gas, nuts, and bolts) and notify the Warehouse Production Manager of low stock to maintain production flow.
Team Collaboration & Support: Build effective working relationships with team members, maintaining a positive and supportive workplace culture.
Quality Control & Reporting: Ensure that inspections are conducted as per instructions, and document all relevant production details.
Report and resolve any issues that could affect product quality.
Skills & Experience Required: Essential: Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication A current Driver's License A current Forklift License Knowledge of welding, drilling, and painting techniques Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of JOST products Preferable: Previous experience in a similar production or welding environment Familiarity with swing, jib, and hoist operation Why Join Us?
