Metal Fabricator

BND Steels is looking for a qualified and experienced Full-time Metal Fabricator to join our team.
Salary Range – $70,000 - $80,000
Business Location – Tarneit, Vic 3029
Responsibilities Ensure design specifications are verified before beginning cutting and shaping tasksReview blueprints, drawings, and specifications to grasp the job requirements.Conduct quality control checks on finished metal products to ensure they meet the required standards.Join metal sections using welding techniques, bolting, or riveting.Inspect welds to ensure correct width, penetration, and accuracy.Clean, prepare, and select metal stock for fabrication.Inspect welds to ensure correct width, penetration, and accuracy.Using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal cutting machines, cut metal sections and shapes according to markings.Smooth and clean welds through filing, chiselling, or grinding methods.Shape and bend metal pipes and sections with hand tools, machines, or heating methods.Use hand tools and measuring instruments to align metal parts for joining.Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing, or immersing them in acidic solutions when needed.Skills and Qualifications AQF Associate Degree, Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma in Engineering, Metal Fabrication or a related field.Prior Experience as a Metal Fabricator. Strong understanding of using various tools and equipment, similar to operating kitchen tools with precision.
