Quick overview of the role
This position is responsible for setting up and operating machinery to cut and bend steel into structural shapes, specified by work order, drawings, templates or layout as relevant to the relevant machine.
Key Responsibilities Conducting pre-start checks on all equipment and machinery before it is usedReporting any faults to your Manager or Supervisor immediatelyResponsible for operation, loading and unloading steel bars, operating controls, setting bend angles and inspection of quality parts in accordance with requirementsOperating all machine and using any relevant equipment in a safe manner as stated in the TAPArrange machine at the beginning of the shift to ensure that everything is in orderSelect all layouts, templates and check fixturesSelect all tools and bending dies appropriatelyExamine completed steel pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or any sort of defective pieces according to type of productPlace finished steel pieces on a rack or pallet with the tag prior to load in accordance with the scheduleIdentify, properly tag and remove non-conforming materialsPerforms general clean-up of the work area at the end of the shift including sweeping the floor and emptying the binsWhat's in it for you?
