Your opportunity to join our team at Thomastown! As Production Manager at our Thomastown further processing site, you will engage, develop and lead your team to deliver world-class products. As a leader across the site, you will drive best practice and continuous improvement initiatives to maximise efficiencies and improve operational performance. With a focus on safety, and a passion for quality, you will partner with stakeholders to deliver consistent results by living the principles of being open, honest and collaborative.
This role will report into the Factory Manager and be responsible for leading a small team of Supervisors across 2 shifts.
Key responsibilities: Engage, lead, motivate and develop your team through effective people management strategies ensuring capability of people to achieve individual, team and overall site objectives.Involve the team by encouraging and motivating them to deliver safety excellence and promote risk awareness.Drive performance on a daily basis across the further processing facility ensuring delivery on time sensitive production deadlines.Ensure that the labour cost base is the most productive, efficient and cost competitive for the industry.Assist in the development of reporting for key operational indicators including labour optimisation, overtime, throughput rates and inventory control.Identify, drive and embed continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency programs.Monitor spend and keep within budget, seeking approval for out of scope spend.Work cross functionally, building strong relationships with different stakeholders and working as one team.Key requirements: Experience working in a production/ manufacturing environment with a proven track record of achieving positive operational outcomes.Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage a large team and create a collaborative working environment.Passionate about driving continuous improvement initiatives, to improve safety, efficiencies and reliability.Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate cross functionally to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders.Excellent analytical skills.Degree qualified in relevant discipline desirable but not essential.We're looking for people who are curious, caring, courageous and committed to join us.
