Production Manager

Our client is seeking a highly proficient and motivated Production Manager to oversee production at our manufacturing facility in Reservoir - managing a skilled team of fitters and turners and boilermakers.Our client is a leading manufacturer of meat processing equipment for the rendering industry, specializing in the manufacture of pressure vessels, conveyors and related components.Qualifications and ExperienceCertificate III in Engineering (Metal Fabrication or Fitter & Turner) (or equivalent)Medium to heavy engineering/fabrication experience is advantageousSound understanding of welding processes and/or fitting and machiningFabrication/fitting/machining experienceTasks & responsibilitiesForecasting and programming jobs and allocating tasks to individual workersReading and interpreting design drawings and specificationsMonitoring job times and optimising efficiency on the factory floorEnsuring safe work practices are followedCommunicating with the Purchasing Officer, General Manager andEngineering Department.Skills and AttributesExcellent communication skillsAttention to detailLeadership skillsExperience and knowledge reading and interpreting drawings andspecificationsStrong sense of teamworkAbility to problem solve and multi task
