Our client, an industry leading and 100% Australian owned manufacturing company to the education sector, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to join their expanding team. With a supply chain of more than 4500 local schools, and further exports not limited to New Zealand, Vietnam, Philippines and UAE, this role will suit a highly organized and quality focused operator.
The position will see you take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the production facility. With effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, and organising, the Production Manager will ensure the entire factory operates efficiently, effectively, and most importantly, safely.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the general day-to-day production activities to ensure company policies are procedures are followed.Liaise with stakeholders, including customers, client managers, suppliers et., to provide efficient and effective operations to achieve company objectives.Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed, and legal obligations are met.Contribute to short- and long-term organisational planning and strategy as part of the management team.Ensure that processes required for the Quality Management System are maintained.Assess and manage processes to continuously improve on just-in-time lean manufacturing, quality, and productivity.Estimating costs, determining staffing requirements, reviewing employee performance, and identifying training needs.Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed.Being responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment.Lead, set and manage a high-performance culture.Supervising and motivating a team of workers.Reviewing employee performance and monitor key performance indicators.Contribute to the development of new products and designs as part of the product development team.Skills & Experience: A diploma and/or 5-10 years' experience in both manufacturing and logistics (preferred)Full understanding of OH&S requirements and obligationsStrong problem-solving skillsLean manufacturing experience(preferred)Decision making, sound business judgement.Report writing and presentation skills.Confident computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)Have a positive and self-motivated attitude.
